I am a motivated MSci Psychology with Innovation graduate from the University of Bristol. I am a proactive problem solver and I want to grow along with teammates. My joint honours degree has given me the opportunity to work in interdisciplinary groups. Through collaborating on projects with people from 11 different core disciplines (from Music to Physics) I am very comfortable working with people who have very different work styles and approaches to briefs. I believe the key to managing this is through effective communication. Through my degree I have been fortunate enough to give a speech to the Mayor of Bristol, showcase my projects to leading industry professionals and complete design briefs for clients, one of which was featured by The Sunday Times.

I am able to amalgamate both the sciences and the arts and I believe UX design traverses both disciplines. Because Psychology was my core discipline, I am able to understand the user behind the innovative products and services being made. Understanding user behaviour, decision-making and motivation is crucial for human-centred design, which is something I am particularly interested in.

After I graduated in 2020, in a pandemic, I followed another passion of mine and went to drama school to study professional acting. Whilst my Psychology degree was very theoretical, acting allowed me to translate the theory into practice. Both Psychology and acting have understanding people, their emotions, motivations and behaviour at the heart. I am an empathetic person and acting has helped me hone this skill. This is a vital skill for UX design so that products and services can be designed to respond to user wants, needs and emotions.

I love the diversity of briefs and projects I have worked on, as well as the different people I have worked with. I look forward to a career in UX design making products and services that advocate for the end user.
